Lynne Allen Named Assistant Equipment Manager

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Bridgewater State College Director of Athletics, John Harper, announced today that Lynne Allen has been named as the department's new Assistant Equipment Manager.

"Lynne Allen is a perfect fit for this position, and I am very excited that she is joining our full-time staff," Harper said. "Not only was she a student-athlete in our program but she has also served as a coach for us so she knows the importance of accuracy and customer service in providing equipment room services."

Lynne is a 2003 graduate of Bridgewater State College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Recreation.  She was also an outstanding forward on the BSC women's basketball team for two seasons from 2001 to 2003.  She averaged 13.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game during her time with Bears to go along with 104 assists, 98 steals and 32 blocked shots.

Lynne was a two-time selection to the All-Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference Team garnering first team honors during her junior season of 2001-2002.  Lynne was also selected as the conference player of the week on three occasions.

Allen, who played high school ball at Holliston High School, competed on the women's basketball team at Division II Catawba College in North Carolina prior to transferring to BSC. After college, she served as an assistant on the BSC women's basketball coaching staff for two seasons from 2003 to 2005 and again during the 2008-2009 campaign.
