BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Nicole Major (Andover, Mass.) earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Co-Rookie of the Year honors to highlight the Bears' two representatives on the 2022 All-MASCAC Women's Cross Country Team.
Joining Major on the All-MASCAC Team is senior Maura Bruns (Franklin, Mass.).
Major and Bruns helped Bridgewater State place third in the team standings at the MASCAC Championships held this past weekend at Stanley Park in Westfield.
Major was the Bears top runner at the meet as she covered the five-kilometer course in a career-best time of 19:20.84 to place second overall. Bruns finished ninth at the meet with a career-best time of 19:58.92 as broke the 20-minute mark in a 5K race for the first time in her career.
The top ten runners at the MASCAC Championship meet earned All-MASCAC honors.
