Women's Cross Country Places 18th at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 18th at the Connecticut College Invitational held on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.

Junior Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as she completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 24:15.3 to finish 93rd out of a field of 259 runners.

Freshman Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) crossed the line in 24:38.4 to place 117th overall, while sophomore Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) rounded out BSU's top three harriers with a time of 25:03.4 (141st place).

Abigail Nadler of Middlebury College won the individual title with a time of 21:24.5. Tufts University placed first in the team standings followed by Middlebury and Claremont-Mudd Scripps.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University on October 29th.
