Women's Cross Country Competes at ECAC Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Members of the Bridgewater State University women's cross country team competed at the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Williams College at the Mount Grelock High School Course on Saturday.

Junior Sydney Quirk (Plymouth, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as she completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 27:22.3 to finish 168th overall out of a field of 317 harriers.

Sophomore Melina Baker (Attleboro, Mass.) was next across the line for BSU as she posted a time of 28:02.5 (191st place). Freshman Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top three runners with a time of 28:44.4 (216th place).

The Bears finished in 35th place in the team standings. Tufts University captured the team title followed by the University of New England in second place and host Williams in the third spot.

Next Weekend, the Bears compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Connecticut College.
