Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed fourth at the season-opening Roger Williams Invitational held on Saturday at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Senior Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as she covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:33.19.  Poto finished fifth out of a field of 109 harriers.

Seniors Emily Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Rachel Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) were next across the line for the Bears as they placed 31st (21:07.15) and 37th (21:21.44) respectively.

Senior Theresa Connolly (North Andover, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' top 50 performers as she placed 47th with a time of 21:35.75.

Priyanka Fouda of Wellesley College helped led the Blue to the team title as she won the meet with a time of 19:10.59.

After a weekend off, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 19th.
