Women's Cross Country Places 17th at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 17th at the Connecticut College Invitational held on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.

Sophomore Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) paced the Bears as she completed the six-kilometer course with a time of 23:47 to finish 59th overall out of a field of 257 runners.

Junior Krysta Zbikowski (Ashburnham, Mass.) was next across the line for Bridgewater State in 83rd place with a time of 24:23. She was followed by sophomore Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.) in 124th place with a time of 25:05.

Rounding out the BSU harriers, sophomores Rachel Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Emily Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed 192nd (26:30) and 194th (26:31), respectively, sophomore Natalya Riberdy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) placed 216th (27:17) and junior Joyce Simon (Pembroke, Mass.) finished 238th (28:59).

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC and New England Alliance Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, November 2nd.
