Women's Cross Country Places 16th at UMD Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 16th out of 29 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.

Sophomore Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) paced the Bears as she completed the five-kilometer course with a time of 19:45 to finish 31st overall.

Junior Krysta Zbikowski (Ashburnham, Mass.) was next across the line for Bridgewater State in 58th place with a time of 20:26. She was followed by sophomore Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.) in 87th place with a time of 21:02.

Rounding out the BSU harriers, sophomores Rachel Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Emily Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed 117th (21:37) and 122nd (21:50), respectively, freshman Brittany Reed (Plymouth, Mass.) finished 124th (21:53), sophomore Natalya Riberdy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) placed 130th (22:03) and senior Taylor Clancy (Braintree, Mass.) finished 138th (22:17).

Former BSU cross country and track standout and 2013 graduate, Molly Rouillard, won the meet with a time of 18:10.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI on Saturday, October 5th.
