Poto Paces Women's Cross Country At Roger Williams Invitational

 

Bristol, R.I. - Sophomore Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) finished inside the top ten to help lead the Bridgewater State women's cross country team to eighth place at the Roger Williams Invitational at Colt State Park this morning.

Connecticut College won the meet with 36 team points while the Bears tallied 173 points at the course that will host the ECAC Division III Championships on November 9.

Poto led the effort with eighth overall out of 131 competators with a time of 20:28.12.

Sophomore Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.) also covered the 5k course with 38th place (22:14.43) followed by junior Krysta Zbikowski (Ashburnham, Mass.) who was just seconds off in 44th (22:18.92).

Freshman Brittany Reed (Plymouth, Mass.) chipped in with 54th (22:36.22) while sophomore Natalya Riberdy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and classmate Rachel Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) notched 59th (22:44.34) and 61st (22:48.66), respectively.

Sophomore Emily Ducharme (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed 63rd as the seventh runner for BSU by clocking 22:54.45.

Bridgewater State will continue thier season next Saturday at the Eastern Connecticut Invitational.
