Molly Rouillard Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the fourth time this season and 16th time in her outstanding career, Bridgewater State University senior Molly Rouillard has been chosen as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Rouillard captured her third straight MASCAC Runner of the Year accolades after claiming her third consecutive individual crown at the 2012 MASCAC Championships held this past weekend at Stanley Park in Westfield.  The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native covered the five-kilometer course in a winning time of 18:00.10 as she helped lead the Bears to a third place finish in the team standings.

The meet title marked Rouillard’s fourth of the season as she also took home top honors at the Connecticut College Invitational (Oct. 13), the James Earley Invitational (Oct. 6), the Tri-State Invitational (Sept. 29) and the season-opening Roger Williams Invitational (Sept. 8).

Rouillard garnered MASCAC Runner of the Week honors six times during her rookie season of 2010 and six more in 2011.  She has been named as the MASCAC Runner of the Year in each of her three seasons at Bridgewater State (2010, 2011, 2012), and was selected as the conference Rookie of the Year in 2010.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, Rouillard was voted to the Capital One Division III Academic All-District One Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA).  She also competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing 12th in the 10,000-meter run.

Next weekend, Rouillard and the BSU women's cross country team will compete at the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
