Molly Rouillard Named MASCAC Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Molly Rouillard has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native posted the top MASCAC performance at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State on Saturday. She finished fifth overall, covering the five kilometer layout in a time of 19:03.70.

Competing in her first season on the cross country team, Rouillard was an outstanding track athlete at Dartmouth High School where she was an Old Colony League All-Star in both indoor and outdoor track as a junior and senior.  In 2008, during her senior year, Rouillard set the school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.7 seconds.

Early this season, Rouillard was named the MASCAC Runner of the Week after outstanding performances at both the Roger Williams Invitational and the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. She posted her season-best time of 18:59 at the UMass meet.

The BSU cross country teams are off this weekend as they prepare for the upcoming MASCAC Championship meet on Saturday, October 23rd out in Westfield.
