John Marsh Inducted into NEWA Hall of Fame

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Former Bridgewater State All-American, John Marsh '10, was inducted into the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Hall of Fame on Sunday at the 2020 NEWA Dual Meet Tournament held at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

Marsh competed for the Bridgewater State wrestling team from 2006-2010 and earned All-American honors during his senior year when he placed fifth out of the 149-pound weight class at the 2010 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships. Marsh also competed at the 2007 NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships out of the 141-pound weight class.

In three seasons with the Bears, Marsh recorded 111 wins as he ranks third all-time in program history in that category. He set the BSU single-season records with 47 wins (tied with teammate John Fralick) and 137 takedowns during the 2006-2007 season.

John was a two-time All-New England selection as he place third out of the 141-pound weight class at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Championships in 2007 and captured the 149-pound title in 2010.

A 2010 graduate of Bridgewater State, Marsh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. John is currently a manager at Total Form Fitness in Hartsdale, New York.

Marsh is the Bears' second NEWA Hall of Fame selection as he joins Craig Buckley '04 who was inducted in 2014.
