BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Junior heavyweight Patrick Walsh (Stoughton, Mass.) went 3-0 with three pins to lead the host Bridgewater State University Bears at the BSU Wrestlng Quad on Saturday.
The Bears dropped a 21-18 decision to Pilgrim Wrestling League (PWL) rival Rhode Island College in their opening match of the day, but then rebounded with a 27-2 victory over Trinity College and a 33-15 win over PWL foe Coast Guard Academy.
Walsh pinned his opponent from RIC 31 seconds into the second period and added first period pins over his opponents from Trinity (2:13) and Coast Guard (2:48).
Sophomore 149-pounder Sean Fields (Norwalk, Conn.) also went 3-0 for the Bears, while senior 197-pounder Andrew Frazer (West Hartford, Conn.), senior 133-pounder Ken Francis (New Bedford, Mass.) and freshman 141-pounder Dan Barker (Derry, N.H.) notched two wins apiece.
Bridgewater completes the dual meet portion of their schedule with a 8-14 mark. The Bears also finished 1-4 in the Pilgrim League.
