BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior midfielder Lauren Gear has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

A native of Hull, Massachusetts, Geary tallied 11 goals and three assists for 14 points in a pair of MASCAC wins for the Bears. She also notched nine ground balls and 20 draw controls on the week.

Geary potted six goals and dished out three assists to go along with two ground balls and 11 draws in a 21-7 win over Framingham State University. She also registered five goals, seven ground balls, nine draws and a caused turnover in an improbable 15-14 comeback win over Worcester State University as the Bears battled back from a 9-0 first half deficit.

In 17 games this season, Geary has 59 goals and ten assists for 69 points as well as 66 ground balls, 125 draws and 30 caused turnover.

Geary leads the MASCAC in draw controls and caused turnovers and ranks second in both goals and ground balls as well as fourth in scoring. She is also sixth in all of Division III in draw controls per game (7.35).

In 54 games over her first three seasons at Bridgewater State, Geary has amassed 149 goals and 46 assists for 195 points to go along with 202 ground balls, 423 draws and 90 caused turnovers. She holds the BSU career mark for draws and ranks second all-time in ground balls, eighth in goals and tenth in scoring.

As a freshman in 2013, Geary set the NCAA Division III record for draw controls in a season with 188 (since broken). Her 423 career draws rank in the top ten among the all-time Division III leaders and potentially as high fifth.

The BSU women's lacrosse team wrapped up regular season play with an overall record of 9-8 including a 5-2 conference mark. Seeded third in this week's MASCAC Tournament, the Bears host a quarterfinal round game against #6 Salem State University on Tuesday night at seven.
