Taylor Clancy Named ECAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior midfielder Taylor Clancy has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

A native of Braintree, Massachusetts, Clancy scored ten goals and added eight assists for 18 points while notching 18 ground balls, 15 draw controls and nine caused turnovers in a perfect 3-0 week for the Bears.

Clancy tallied three goals and five assists as well as 12 ground balls, four draws and four caused turnovers in an 18-8 win over Eastern Connecticut State.  She also tacked on four goals, three assists, four ground balls, eight draws and three caused turnovers in a 20-9 win over UMass Dartmouth.

Clancy apped off the week with three goals to go along with two ground balls, three draws and two caused turnovers in a 21-8 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Fitchburg State.

In ten games this season, Clancy has recorded 27 goals and 17 assists for 44 points in addition to 47 ground balls, 37 draws and 28 caused turnovers.  She leads the MASCAC in scoring, ground balls and caused turnovers, and is tied for the conference lead, along with teammate Melissa Renauld, in goals.  Clancy also ranks second in assists and third in draws.

In 69 games over four seasons with the Bears, Clancy has amassed 136 goals and 53 assists for 189 points.  She is the program's all-time leader with 240 ground balls and ranks third in BSU history with 191 draws.  Clancy, who also has 128 caused turnovers to her credit, is eighth all-time at Bridgewater State in both goals and scoring.

Earlier this week, Clancy was named the MASCAC Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is currently 7-3 on the season and 1-0 in the MASCAC.  The Bears travel to MASCAC foe Worcester State University on Saturday to take on the Lancers at noon.
