BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team did not allow a goal in the second half  as the Bears posted a 12-5 victory over visiting Keene State College on Tuesday night at Swenson Field.

The Bears improve to 7-3 with their fifth straight win, while the Owls slip to 4-3.

Sophomore midfielder Lauren Geary (Hull, Mass.) paced Bridgewater State with five goals and an assist to go along with five controlled draws and two ground balls.

Senior midfielder Taylor Clancy (Braintree, Mass.) added three goals, five ground balls, three draws and three caused turnovers for the Bears, while sophomore attack Riley Cachelin (Westwood, Mass.) notched two goals and three assists, and freshman attack Alex King (Weymouth, Mass.) chipped in with a goal and two helpers.

Sophomore midfielder Kaitlin Nolan (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the way for Keene State with a pair of goals and three draws.

Bridgewater jumped out to a 6-2 lead on the strength of two goals apiece from Clancy and Geary.  A pair of goals from Nolan, with the second coming with just 27 seconds remaining in the stanza, helped the visitors pull to within 7-5 at the intermission.

Holding a two-goal lead at the break, the Bears limited the Owls to just four shots (only one on goal) over the final 30 minutes.  A goal by Clancy to open the second half scoring followed by back-to back strikes from Geary gave the hosts a comfortable 10-5 lead.

Bridgwater held a 21-18 shot advantage for the game including a 10-4 edge in the second half.  Draws were 10-9 in favor of the Bears.

BSU freshman netminder Allie Forman (Marblehead, Mass.) made four saves to post her fifth win of the season. Senior Erin Taylor (Brewster, N.Y.) and freshman Alison Argiro (Hingham, Mass.) combined to make four saves in the setback for the Owls.

In upcoming action, the Bears travel to Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rival Worcester State University to take on the Lancers at noon.  The Owls entertain non-conference foe MIT on Thursday night at seven.

Notes: With her three goals, Clancy increased her career total to 189 as she moved past Kristin White (2009-11) into eighth place on the Bears' all-time goal scoring list...With her three assists, Cachelin increased her career total to 61 as she moved past Ann Silvia (1997-00) into seventh place on the Bears' all-time assist list.
