BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team broke open a close game with a 7-0 second half run as the Bears knocked off visiting Salve Regina University, 22-13, on Tuesday night at Swenson Field.

The host Bears remain undefeated on the young season as they improve to 4-0.  Salve falls to 1-3 with the loss.

Senior midfielder Courtney Lennon (Medfield, Mass.) paced Bridgewater State with four goals and two assists to go along with five controlled draws.  Lennon notched three goals and an assist in the second half alone as the Bears outscored the Seahawks 13-6 in the final stanza after leading 9-7 at the intermission.

Junior attack Kristin White (Pelham, Mass.) added three goals and three assists for the Bears while senior attack Jenny Jones (Framingham, Mass.) potted four goals.  Sophomore attack Jill Caramello (Duxbury, Mass.) chipped in with three goals, an assist and three ground balls.

Sophomore defender Shelby Farland (Fiskdale, Mass.) had a strong game at both ends of the field as she notched three ground balls, two controlled draws, a caused turnover and also scored a pair of goals.  Senior defender Erin Quimby (Chelmsford, Mass.) registered five draws as well as an assist.

Bridgewater held a 43-23 shot advantage for the game including a 25-11 edge in the second half.  The Bears were also 7-for-12 in free position attempts (4-for-5 in the second half) while Salve did not score a free position goal in just two tries.

Junior attack Sarah Livingston (Westford, Mass.) led the way for the Seahawks with five goals and an assist.  Sophomore midfielder Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) added three goals and three assists, while sophomore midfielder Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) notched a goals, three assists and four draws.  Junior netminder Natalie Balletta (Leominster, Mass.) turned aside 12 shots in a busy evening between the pipes.

Bridgewater is off until Thursday, March 24th when they travel to Mount Holyoke College to take on the Lyons in a non-conference affair.  Salve hosts Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Curry College on Saturday at noon.

Notes: With her four goals, Jones increased her career point total to 297 as she moved past Katie DeMaio (295 points) into third place on the Bears' all-time scoring list.
