Women's Lacrosse Blanks Thomas College, 20-0

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bridgewater State College Bears posted a 20-0 shutout victory over Thomas College in New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) action this afternoon in Waterville, Maine.

Bridgewater improves to 9-4 on the season and 4-0 in the NEWLA.  The Bears have won two straight games and nine of their last ten.  Thomas dips to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

BSC outshot the Terriers by a margin of 41-4 and dominated play from start to finish.  The Bears led 13-0 at the half and coasted to the easy win.

Junior Katie DeMaio (Port Jefferson Station, NY) paced the Bears with seven goals and two assist, while sophomore Jenny Jones (Framingham, MA) contributed three goals, six assists, two ground balls and two draw controls.

DeMaio is now fifth all-time at BSC in both goals (134) and points (183).

Junior Shannon Manning (Framingham, MA) added four goals, four assists, two ground balls and two draw controls for the Bears.  Manning's four goals upped her career total to 150 as she is just one of three players in BSC women's lacrosse history to reach the milestone.

Freshman Kristin White (Pelham, MA) chipped in with three goals and an assist, while sophomore Patricia Maloney (Walpole, MA) tallied a goal and three assists.  Freshman Jennifer Natale (Hanover, MA) scored a goal and assisted on two others.

Sophomore Katie Weber (Arlington, MA), making just her second start in goal, made three saves on the afternoon to notch her first career shutout.

Sophomore Nicole Foss (Addison, ME) turned aside 14 shots for the Terriers including 12 in the first half.
