Kylee Piché Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman guard Kylee Piché has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

A native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Piché averaged 15 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three games last week while shooting 50% (17-34) from the floor, 71% (5-7) from three-point range and 86% (6-7) at the free throw line.

Piché tallied a career-high 21 points to go along with three rebounds and a steal in a 74-68 loss to Hamilton College, and notched 17 points, two rebounds and four assists in an 86-65 setback to Nazareth College at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. She also registered seven points and a steal in a 78-60 victory over Clark University.

Through 12 games this season, Piché is averaging 7.8 points, three rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game. She is also shooting 36% (36-99)  from the floor and 32% (8-25) from behind the arc.

Piché currently ranks eighth in the MASCAC in both steals and field goal percentage.

The BSU women's basketball team is presently 3-9 on the season. The Bears travel to Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night for a seven o'clock game with the Wildcats.
