NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Trinity College overcame a 23-23 deadlock at halftime to post 40 second half points in a 63-48 win over Bridgewater State University in the semifinals of the Ed Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich University on Friday night.

The Bantams will take on host Norwich in the tournament championship game on Saturday afternoon at three, while the Bears will face off against the University of Maine-Augusta in the consolation game at one.

Courtney Erickson led the Bantams with 20 points in 24 minutes while Rebecca Reifler added 17 points.

The two teams combined for 20 first half turnovers but it was the Bantams who would settle play and capture the victory in the final 20 minutes. Kaitlin Lewis opened the third quarter with a three-pointer to provide an early spark, but the Bears would counter with a rally capped off by Jennie Lindland's (Edgartown, Mass.) game-tying layup at 5:48 in the third quarter.

Tied at 30, Reifler would get a layup to go in the paint before an Erica Junquet three-point basket shot the Bantams ahead by a 40-33 lead with 2:33 to go in the third. Trinity was able to keep Bridgewater State off the scoreboard across the final 3:18 before Lindland's floater sank as time expired for the Bears.

Rhiana Page (Brookline, Mass.) cut the Trinity lead to eight points, 50-42, with 5:43 left in regulation, but a quick eight-point run eliminated any chance of a Bridgewater State comeback. Emily Llerena's jumper with 30 seconds left in regulation built a game-high 17 point lead for the Bantams.

Stephanie DeSantis (Walpole, Mass.) led Bridgewater State with 14 points while Lindland scored 11 point on 4 of 4 shooting in just 18 minutes of action. Chelsea Saucier (Portland, Maine) assisted on four baskets and also grabbed seven rebounds while Page led the team with eight boards and added six points, a pair of assists and two blocked shots.

Trinity held a decided 32-16 edge in points in the paint as well as a 19-10 advantage in points off turnovers.

The Bears shot 36% (19-33) from the floor and 22% (4-18) from behind the arc and were outrebounded 41-26 (14-6 on the offensive glass).
