Jennie Lindland Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior forward Jennie Lindland has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Edgartown, Massachusetts, Lindland averaged 20.5 points, six rebounds, 1.5 assists and five steals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears while shooting 67 percent (18-27) from the floor.

Lindland tallied a career-high 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting to go along with six rebounds and two steals in the Bears’ 82-72 MASCAC win on the road over Salem State University. She also notched 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and eight steals in a 74-64 conference victory over Worcester State University.

Through 22 games this season, Lindland is averaging 12.4 points, six rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. She is also shooting 54% (115-215) from the floor.

Lindland currently ranks third in the MASCAC in field goal percentage, fourth in steals and eighth in scoring as well as tenth in blocked shots (0.6 bpg).

In 73 games over three seasons with the Bears, Lindland has amassed 590 points, 262 rebounds, 83 assists, 53 blocked shots and 135 steals.

Lindland was also selected as the MASCAC Player of the Week back on January 25th.

The BSU women’s basketball team is currently 11-11 on the season and tied for second in the MASCAC standings with an 8-2 conference mark. The Bears entertain Westfield State University on Wednesday evening at 5:30 before wrapping up regular season play at MCLA on Saturday afternoon at one.
