Jennie Lindland Named MASCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior forward Jennie Lindland has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Edgartown, Massachusetts, Lindland averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, two assists and a blocked shot in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. She also shot 52% (15-29) from the floor and 83% (5-6) at the free throw line.

Lindland posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three assists and a pair of steals in BSU’s 90-79 road victory over MASCAC for Westfield State. She also added 15 points, five rebounds, seven steals and two blocks in a 65-50 win on the road over conference rival Worcester State.

Through 16 games this season, Lindland is averaging 11.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game while shooting 54% (78-145) from the floor. She is currently second among the MASCAC leaders in field goal percentage and ranks third in steals and eighth in scoring.

In 67 games over three seasons with the Bears, Lindland has amassed 504 points, 223 rebounds, 74 assists, 116 steals and 49 blocked shots.

The BSU women’s basketball team is currently 7-9 on the season and tied for first in the MASCAC standings with a 4-1 conference mark. The Bears, who are riding a four-game winning streak, entertain the Trailblazers of MCLA on Wednesday evening at 5:30.
