With the score knotted at 12-12, Williams closed out the first quarter with a quick 6-1 run to take an 18-13 lead. The Ephs carried the momentum into the second quarter outscoring the Bears 12-4 over the first 4 ½ minutes. Williams would take a 33-23 lead into the break.

Caveney led all scorers with eight first half points while sophomore forward Lydia Zaleski (Marblehead, Mass.) added six points in six minutes off the bench. Melton and Conceicao tallied seven points apiece to lead the Bears over the first twenty minutes.

The Ephs held the Bears to just four points over the first seven minutes of the third quarter as they extended their lead to 20 (47-27). Williams maintained the 20-point advantage (51-31) following a Kristin Fechtelkotter (Medfield, Mass.) layup at the 1:24 mark.

BSU got untracked in the final 73 seconds of the third quarter as a Melton free throw followed by a Lindland traditional three-point play and a Conceicao trifecta pulled the Bears to within 13, 51-38, as the game entered the final period.

Back-to-back layups by freshman guard Sara DaSilva (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Lindland to open the fourth quarter got the Bears to within single-digits at 51-42.

Williams' senior center Katie Litman (Dallas, Texas) answered with a short jumper to end the 11-0 run. Following a Lindland free throw, Caveney drained a three-pointer to give the Ephs a comfortable 56-43 advantage with just 3:54 showing on the game clock.

Bridgewater was unable to get back to within single digits until Conceicao knocked down a three-pointer with just 17 seconds left to play as the Ephs held on for the 61-52 win.

The Bears struggled with their shooting throughout the contest as they connected on just 33% (21-63) of their field goal attempts and went 6-for-15 (40%) at the free throw line.

Bridgewater's pressure defense, however, forced 25 turnovers leading directly to 26 points.
