BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Led by a game-high 17 points from senior guard Corey Cuddihy (Scituate, Mass.), the Bridgewater State University women's basketball team cruised to a 76-52 victory over Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) foe Framingham State on Thursday night at the Tinsley Center in Bridgewater.

With the victory, Bridgewater sits alone in second place in the MASCAC standings as the Bears improve to 15-6 on the season and 6-3 in conference play.  Framingham drops to 11-11 overall and 3-6 in the MASCAC.

Cuddihy, who connected on 4 of 9 three-point attempts, also added six rebounds, four assists and a steal.  Freshman guard Jenna Williamson (Ludlow, Mass.) was the only other Bear in double figures as Bridgewater used a balanced scoring attack.  Williamson finished with 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting off the bench including 3-for-5 from three-point range.

The Bears used a 16-4 run late in the first half to turn a 26-18 lead into a 20-point advantage (42-22). The teams would head to the intermission with the hosts leading 42-25.  Framingham would not seriously threaten in the second half as Bridgewater got up by as many as 27 points (70-43).

Junior forward Monica-Sabina Bharoocha (North Smithfield, R.I.) chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and three assists for BSU.  Freshman forward Megan Boutilette (Charlton, Mass.) notched eight points, four boards, three assists and four steals, while sophomore guard Elisha Homich (Ludlow, Mass,) added seven points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals. 

Bridgewater shot 44% (27-62) for the game including 12-for-30 (40%) from behind the arc. The Bears also forced 26 turnovers.

Freshman guard Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) paced the visiting Rams with 14 points and four assists.  Sophomore forward Michelle Hagerty (Somerville, Mass.) added 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while freshman guard Cassie Liston (Stoneham, Mass.) registered 12 points and three boards.

Framingham connected on only 38% (22-58) of their field goal attempts and made just four trips to the free throw line.

The MASCAC schedule resumes for both teams on Saturday afternoon.  The Bears travel to Worcester State University for a 3:30 game with the Lancers, while the Rams host MCLA at one.
