Coach Salvia will be entering her third season as the BSC head softball coach after taking over the reigns of the program beginning in the fall of 2007. Last season, Lori directed her team to a 28-11 record and a 10-2 mark in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC). The Bears captured the MASCAC tournament title for the seventh time in the nine-year history of the event, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 20th time.
A native and current resident of Milford, Massachusetts, Salvia played collegiately at Boston College. As a starting pitcher at BC, she helped the Eagles capture three consecutive ECAC Division I Championships from 1988 to 1990. During the 1989 season, Salvia posted a record of 14-5 with a 0.64 earned run average and 149 strikeouts in 89 innings of work. That season she hurled her first career no-hitter and also added four one-hitters as she was selected to the ECAC Division I Northeast All-Star Team. In 1990, Salvia went 10-9 with a 1.20 ERA as she tossed her second career no-hitter and also tallied three one-hitters.
At Franklin High School, where she coached from 2001 up through this past season, Salvia directed her teams to three Hockomock League titles and advanced to postseason play all seven years. Three times her squad made it all the way to the state semifinals, and her 2007 team had the great honor of receiving the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Sportsmanship Award. In 2006, she reached the 100-win milestone.
Salvia, who has 18 years of fastpitch softball coaching experience under her belt, was a pitching coach at Nichols College for three seasons from 2005 to 2007, and was the head coach of the Mass Wanderers Amateur Softball Association Junior Olympic Under-18 Team which won a berth to represent Massachusetts at Nationals in 2003 and again in 2004. She is also currently the head coach of the Milford Hawks Special Olympic Team, a position she has held for the past four seasons.
Owner of the 3 D's Softball Academy which she started in 1990, Salvia is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and is a certified coach with the MIAA.
Salvia was inducted into the Milford High School Hall of Fame in 2003. She was a three-sport athlete at Milford competing in field hockey, basketball and softball earning Milford Daily News and MetroWest Daily News All-Scholastic Team honors in all three.

Lynn Pecci joined the BSC softball coaching staff prior to the 2009 season as she will be enterning her season season. A 2008 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Pecci was a starting goalie for the URI Rams women's ice hockey team from 2003-2008. She helped the Rams to a third place finish in the ACHA Div. 1 National Championship Tournament during her senior year at URI. It was here at URI that Pecci majored in English and received her Bachelor's degree.
While at URI, Pecci participated in the school's summer hockey camp beginning in 2004 as well as coaching the JR. Rams Youth Hockey League until last year. Pecci has coached campers at the Skyhawks Summer Sports Camps since 2007.

Assistant Coach (2nd Year) |

Angela Vecchione is entering her second season on the BSC softball coaching staff. Coach Vecchione was a standout athlete while attending Bridgewater State College from 1998 to 2001. She ranks as one of the best hitters ever to play at BSC. Vecchione held many prestigious honors during her four year career at Bridgewater State College.
During her collegiate career Vecchione made the All-MASCAC Second Team her freshman year. The next following three seasons she would make the All-MASCAC First Team. To add to that, Vecchione was MASCAC Player of the Year her sophomore year at shortstop (1999) and senior year at catcher (2001).
Other honors include making the NFCA Division III All-New England Third Team, NEISCA Division III Second Team All-Star, and ECAC Division III All-New England Second Team her freshman year. She would be named to each of the respective first teams her remaining three years. Vecchione was named to the NCAA Division III New England Regional All-Tournament Team every year in her career at Bridgewater State. In 1999, Vecchione also made the 3rd All-America Team.
Maybe more impressive than all of her honors, are her numerous school career records. They include total bases (421), total hits (253), bases stolen (60), and games played (182-tied with Raven Pina). Maybe even more impressive, is her NCAA Division 3 Record for most triples in a career (41).
Bridgewater State won both the MASCAC regular season and tournament championships in each of Vecchione's four seasons at BSC. They also competed in the NCAA Division III New England Regional Tournament in each of those four seasons (having the privilege of hosting the regional tournament all four years). In 1998 and again in 1999, the Bears, coming off two of Vecchione's strongest seasons, captured the New England Regional championship and advanced to the national finals.
Vecchione will receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, with a concentration in Recreation, in May of 2009, and has put her major to use thus far. She has participated in several events including the College Professor-Outdoor Adventure Leadership program at Wheaton College in 2005. Vecchione has also been an assistant softball coach at Wheaton from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2008 she was the head coach for the Bay State Thunder, a U12 softball team.
Outside of softball, Vecchione has 10 years of experience working with children and is currently a Child Care Teacher at the Westfield Child Center in Brockton.
