Alexandra Ruprecht Named MASCAC Softball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University graduate centerfielder Alexandra Ruprecht has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week.

Ruprecht batted .625 (10-16) with a home run, three doubles, three walks, seven runs scored and three RBI in six games for the Bears last week. The Kingston, Massachusetts product also posted a .684 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Ruprecht went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI in a doubleheader split with UMass Boston, and 5-for-6 with a home run, two doubles, a walk, four runs and two RBI in a pair of setbacks to Johnson & Wales University. She was also 2-for-5 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored in a loss and tie against UMass Dartmouth.

In 16 games this season, Ruprecht is batting .475 (19-40) with three home runs, five doubles, a triple, 16 runs scored and 16 RBI. She has also walked seven times, been hit by a pitch, stole two bases and flawlessly recorded 18 chances in centerfield including three outfield assists.

Ruprecht currently leads the MASCAC in batting average, hits, runs batted in, sacrifice bunts (5), one base percentage (.540) and slugging percentage (.875). She is also tied for the conference lead in home runs, walks, runs scored and sacrifice flies (2), and ranks third in doubles.

In 133 games over five seasons with the Bears, Ruprecht has a career batting average of .345 (138-400) with 12 home runs, 28 doubles, two triples, ten stolen bases, 83 runs and 97 RBI. She has also recorded a .515 slugging percentage as well as a .382 on base percentage.

The BSU softball team is currently 7-8-1 on the season. The Bears entertain Wheaton College in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Park with game one of the twinbill getting underway at three o'clock.
