BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman forward Madison Ellis has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Ellis had a hand in all four goals in the Bears’ 4-0 shutout victory over Dean College last week as she tallied her first collegiate marker to go along with three assists. The Attleboro, Massachusetts product also took the initial shot that led to Zoe Bergeron’s rebound goal in a hard-fought 1-1 tie on the road against Eastern Connecticut State University.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 1-1-1 on the young season. The Bears entertain Anna Maria College on Thursday night at seven o'clock from Mazzaferro Field.
