Allison Chappell Named Little East Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Allison Chappell has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.

Chappell backstopped the Bears to a perfect week as she posted a 2-0 record with a 0.57 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. The Raynham, Massachusetts product made two saves and recorded her first career shutout in a 1-0 win over Little East rival UMass Dartmouth. She also turned aside eight shots in a little over 52 minutes of work (52:03) in an 8-2 conference victory over Western Connecticut State University.

Through 11 games this season, Chappell has produced a win-loss record of 7-4 with 80 saves, a 2.38 goals against average and a .762 save percentage. She ranks fourth in the Little East in wins and is sixth overall in saves.

In 14 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Chappell is 8-5 with 2 1/2 shutouts and a 2.19 goals against average. She also has 96 saves and a career .768 save percentage.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 7-4 on the season and 5-4 in the Little East standings. The Bears host non-conference foe Anna Maria College on Thursday night at seven.
