Brittney Field Named ECAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior forward Brittney Field has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.

Field potted five goals and added an assist for 11 points in a 2-1 week for the Bears last week which included a pair of Little East Conference victories over Framingham State University and Fitchburg State University.

Field tallied a pair of goals in Bridgewater's 6-3 win over the Rams, and also found the back of the net in a 4-3 overtime setback to Anna Maria College. The Hubbardston, Massachusetts product capped off the week with a five-point performance (2G, 1A) in the Bears' 4-0 shutout of the Falcons.

Through eleven games this season, Field is tied for tenth amonth the Little East leaders in scoring with 13 points, tied for 12th with three assists and tied for 13th in goals with five.

In 64 games over four seasons with the Bears, Field has amassed 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points. Five of her 15 goals have been game-winners.

Earlier this week, Field was named the Little East Offensive Player of the Week.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 7-4 on the season and tied for fourth place in the Little East standings with a 4-2 conference mark. The Bears entertain LEC rival Keene State College on Saturday afternoon at four.
