Robert Bartlett was born in Augusta, ME and is now officially
Bridgewater State College's Women's Rugby Coach. His love of rugby,
teaching and coaching got him involved while in MA on an IT
project, which he was a successful small business owner of. Robert
graduated from Irinity International University in Deefield, IL
with a BA in Philosophy. Robert was in track, cross-country,
baseball, and basketball whiling in high school and college; and
even after all that, he picked up rugby and never looked back.
He has three teenage kids, one of whom is taking after their
father and is a rugby player and coach.
"It's the best sport there is. Very graceful and beautiful when
executed well. Almost anyone can play. There is even 'wheelchair
rugby'. No other sport regulary offers EVERY player the opportunity
to kick, pass, receive and run with the ball, score points, and
tackle and be tackled while playing both offense and defense, all
within the matter of a few seconds sometimes. 30 players, a ball,
shorts and shirts, a patch of open ground - and you've got a rugby
match! Awesome!"
