BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Naomi Cass has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Cass placed 19th out of a field of 346 runners this past weekend at the 51st Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational held on the UMD campus. The Westport, Massachusetts native completed the rain-soaked and muddy five-kilometer course in a personal-best time of 18:14.51 as she ranked first among Division III runners at the meet.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the sixth of Cass' career as she also earned the honor five times during the 2023 campaign.

Following a weekend off, the BSU women's cross country team will compete at Keene State Invitational on Saturday, October 5th.
