BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team swept visiting Daniel Webster College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-20), in non-conference action on Wednesday night at the Tinsley Center.

The host Bears improve to 5-3 on the season with the win, while the Eagles slip to 0-4.

Sophomore setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) paced the hosts with 23 assist, two kills, one ace, 13 digs and a pair of assisted blocks.  Sophomore outside hitters Clara Goncalves (Dennis, Mass.) and Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) tallied eight kills apiece, while junior middle hitter Julie Hutchins (Bellingham, Mass.) notched five kills, four blocks (two solo) and an ace.  Senior Sarah Mullarkey (Salem, Mass.) added 15 digs as well as an ace.

Bridgewater held a comfortable lead throughout most of the opening game and coasted to the 25-16 victory. Game two was knotted at 12-12 when senior outside hitter Rebecca Morse (Norton, Mass.) notched ten straight points off the serve including a pair of aces as the Bears would go on to win 25-14.  Freshman libero Jacqueline O'Brien (Arlington, Mass.) notched five straight points off the serve to break a 7-7 deadlock in game three.  The Bears would hold a 23-16 advantage before Daniel Webster freshman outside hitter Courtney Warrington (Canton, Texas) reeled off three consecutive aces and four straight points on the serve to pull the Eagles to within 23-20.  Back-to-back errors by the visitors, however, would end the game and the match.
