Ricky Williams joined the Bridgewater State indoor and outdoor track & field coaching staff in the fall of 2023 and is coaching the sprinters. Coach Williams comes to BSU from Norton High School in Massachusetts where her served as the assistant and then head coach from 2017 to 2023.

During Coach Williams’s tenure coaching the Lancers, 32 school records had been broken. The Lancers were 3x Tri-Valley League Champions in 2019, 2020, and 2023. In  2021 Norton won the MIAA D2 South Outdoor State champions and was the 2022-2023 MIAA D5 Indoor State Runners-Up Indoor. Coach Williams coached six athletes and six relays that qualified for the New Balance National Championships, eight athletes have been named MIAA All-Stars, four athletes were All-New England finishers and seven athletes earned Tri-Valley League Most Valuable Performer honors. Coach Williams was awarded the Boston Globe D5 Coach of the Year for the Indoor 2022-23 season. During the Outdoor season from 2018-2019 he was the assistant coach at Canton High School.

Coach Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from American International College in 2015. He was also part of the indoor and outdoor track and field program. As a Yellow Jacket, he was the runner-up in long jump for the NE-10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2013. He then won the long jump the following year at the NE-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2014. Coach Williams attended New Bedford High School and graduated in 2011. After graduating AIC he volunteered as a track coach at his alma mater, New Bedford High School from 2015-2017. Coach Williams holds a USATF Level I coaching certificate.
