
BOSTON, Mass. -- Junior Naomi Cass (Westport, Mass.) garnered All-NEICAAA honors to lead the Bridgewater State University women's track & field team during day one of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.
Cass placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:48.91 as she was the top Division III harrier in the event.
Senior Kiara Abrantes (Somerset, Mass.) and freshman Grace Inacio (Taunton, Mass.) both qualified for the finals of the 200-meter dash. Abrantes placed fourth in the 200 preliminaries with a time of 25.36 seconds while Inacio posted a fifth-place preliminary time of 25.41 seconds.
The Bears are in ninth place (5 pts.) after day one of the two-day championship meet which features team from all three NCAA divisions in New England.
Day two of the NEICAAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will get underway tomorrow morning at ten.
