McDonough Sets 60 Mark at Wheaton Invitational

NORTON, Mass. -- Graduate student Alison McDonough (Halifax, Mass.) broke her own school record in the 60-meter dash on Saturday at the Wheaton Invitational.

McDonough posted a finals time of 7.72 seconds in the 60 as she eclipsed her previous school standard of 7.75 seconds set last season. McDonough placed second in the event as she was edged by Iyana Braswell of Division I Bryant University by just 2/1000 of second.

McDonough also captured top honors at the meet in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.84 seconds. She posted a season-best time of 8.81 seconds in the preliminaries.

McDonough was the only member of the BSU women's track & field team to compete on Saturday as the majority of the squad competed yesterday at the Reggie Open held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

The BSU women's track & field team is back in action next weekend as the Bears will compete at the Harvard Open.
