Women’s Track & Field Competes at Joe Donahue Games

ROXBURY, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Joe Donahue Games hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center. The meet featured teams from all three NCAA divisions.

Senior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed fourth and qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the mile with a time of 5:20.81.

Madden, fellow senior Jessica Haywood (East Longmeadow, Mass.), freshman Julie Glavin (Weymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Katherine Vogel (Pawling, N.Y.) posted a time of 10:35.82 in the 4x800-meter relay as the foursome ran uncontested.

Freshman Abbi Peterson (Watertown, Mass.) had a strong outing in the high jump placing fourth with a leap of five feet, three inches (1.60m).

Fellow freshman Alison McDonough (Halifax, Mass.) placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 9.61 seconds. McDonough also placed 18th in the 60-meter dash running 8.18 seconds.

Sophomore Kaylee Dunn (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed fourth in the 3000-meter run posting a time of 10:38.74.

In the weight throw, juniors Jamelah Foster (Fall River, Mass.) and Juliana Martin (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Foster posted a personal best mark of 48 feet 5.50 inches (14.77m), while Martin tossed the weight 45 feet 6.25 inches (14.07m).

The BSU track & field teams are off until after the New Year when the Bears compete at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday, January 18th.
