
WATERVILLE, Maine – Bridgewater State University senior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) eclipsed her own school mark in the 10,000-meter run to lead the Bridgewater State University outdoor track and field teams during day one action of the 2013 New England Division III Track & Field Championships held at Colby College.
Rouillard recorded a time of 35:49.99 to finished second in the event and earn All-New England Division III honors. She broke her previous mark of 36:19.51 set last season. Rouillard currently ranks seventh in all of Division III in the 10,000.
BSU junior Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass.) placed tenth in the hammer throw (143’6.00”/43.75m), while freshman Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) finished 11th in the long jump (16’3.25”/4.96M). Freshman Juliana Keene (Norton, Mass.) added a 20th place showing in the javelin (104’/31.71m).
On the men’s side, senior Michael McPherson (Mansfield, Mass.) placed ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 166 feet, three inches (50.67m), while sophomore Ian Knapton (Mattapoisett, Mass.) finished 14th in the long jump (20’3.75”/6.19m).
The New England Division III Championship meet will continue on Saturday as qualifying members of the BSU outdoor track and field teams will be competing.
