Rouillard, Robitaille Lead Women's Track & Field at New England DIII Championships

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's track and field team competed at the New England Division III Championships held at Smith College on Friday and Saturday.

Junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) set the BSU school record and placed ninth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:25.27. Rouillard eclipsed Nicole Mauro's previous BSU indoor mark of 10:26.53 set in 2008.

Senior Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.) placed tenth in the pentathlon as she recorded a score of 2,890 points.  Robitaille tied for fifth in the high jump (4'11.50") and placed sixth in the 800-meter run (2:34.06), seventh in the long jump (16'1.50"), eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.94 seconds) and 17th in the shot put (24'1.00").

Robitaille also ran a leg on the Bears' school record setting 4 x 200-meter relay which posted a time of 1:50.37 and placed 13th at the championships. Joining Robitaille in the relay were junior Mychal-Lynne Folsom (Rockland, Mass.) and sophomores Karen Anselmi (Franklin, Mass.) and Laura McHugh (Mansfield, Mass.).  They broke the previous standard of 1:51.78 set by Anselmi, Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.), Taylor Smith and Rebecca Geldmacher in 2011.
