Davis, Robitaille Lead Women's Track & Field at MASCAC Indoor Championships

GORHAM, Maine –  The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track and field team won MASCAC titles in four individual events and two relays and also set a pair of school records as the Bears competed at the MASCAC Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday.

Bridgewater finished third in the standings with 105 team points.  Worcester State won the meet with 238 points followed by Westfield State with 131.

Senior Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.) earned MASCAC champion honors and set new school and meet records in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:38.40.  Davis surpassed Katie Carter's 2002 BSU mark of 1:39.74.

Senior Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.) captured the MASCAC title in the triple jump and broke her own school record with a leap of 35 feet, 3.25 inches (10.75 meters).  She eclipsed her previous mark of 34 feet, 10.50 inches set in 2011.

Senior Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.) and junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) won conference championships in the 800-meter run (2:25.08) and 1,000-meter run (3:06.66), respectively.

The Bears 4 x 400-meter relay team of Davis, Rouillard, sophomore Malgorzata Czerwonka (Billerica, Mass.) and freshman Ashley Aldred (Saugus, Mass.) captured the MASCAC title, set a new conference meet record and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a time of 4:06.78.

The Bears 4 x 800-meter relay squad of Harris, senior Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.), junior Megan Cullinane (Lunenburg, Mass.) and sophomore Taylor Clancy (Braintree, Mass.) took home MASCAC champion honors, set a new conference record and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a time of 9:58.64.
