DMR Record Falls as Women's Track Competes at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Seniors Co Davis (Mansfield, Mass.), Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) and junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) set the school mark in the distance medley relay to lead the Bridgewater State University women's indoor track and field team at the Boston University Terrier Invitational this weekend.

The Bears' relay squad finished in tenth place in the event with a time of 12:31.12, shattering the 2011 mark of 12:58.24 set by Davis, Lagasse, Rouillard and Jessica Eidinger.

Davis also placed 13th in the 500-meter dash and qualified for both the Division III New England and ECAC championship meets.  She was less than a second off her 2010 school mark of 1:19.00.

Rouillard qualified for all three postseason championship meets (DIII New England, ECAC, NEICAAA) in the 5,000-meter run as she placed 43rd with a time of 18:16.77.  Lagasse placed 55th in the 5,000 (18:39.18) and qualified for DIII New Englands and ECACs.

Harris grabbed the 46th spot in the 800-meter run (2:26.07), while sophomore Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass.) placed 34th in the weight throw with a toss of 42 feet, 1.25 inches (12.83 meters).

Next weekend the BSU indoor track and field teams will compete at the Tufts Invitational II.
