BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. The men's meet took place at MIT while the women competed at Bowdoin College.

Sophomore Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, MA) was the top placewinner for the BSC men's team as he placed ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.40.  Senior Jason Williams (Bradford, MA) finished 12th in the weight throw (47'1.5"), while senior Avery Bouchard (Fall River, MA) was 29th in the 3,000-meter run (9:23.49).

On the women's side, sophomore Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) finished 22nd in the 3,000-meter run (11:03.61).  She also competed along with sophomores Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA), and Carissa Penney (Gardner, MA), and freshman Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, MA) in the 4 x 800-meter relay.  The Bears' relay team placed 13th in the event with a time of 10:30.75.
