Track Teams Compete at Tufts Indoor Stampede

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College indoor track and field teams competed at the Tufts Indoor Stampede on Saturday afternoon in Medford, Mass.

Senior Jason Williams (Bradford, MA) led the men's team with a second place showing in the weight throw as he recorded a toss of 46'2.75". 

Junior Nicholas Ferrara (Swansea, MA) tied for eighth in the high jump with a leap of 5'9.25", while senior Brian Stewart (Scituate, MA) finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:20.29.  Sophomore Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, MA) added a tenth place finish in the 600-meter run (1:27.51).

Sophomore Brittany Page (Winthrop, MA) paced the women's team with a ninth place finish in the weight throw as she posted a distance of 39'6.50".

Freshman Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, MA) posted a time of 1:08.75 to place 12th in the 400-meter dash, while sophomore Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA) was also 12th in the 800-meter run (2:37.36).  Freshman Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, MA) finished 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 31'4.75". 

The track teams travel to the University of Southern Maine next Saturday for the New England Alliance/MASCAC Championships. The meet is scheduled to get underway at noon.
