Track Teams Compete at the Wesleyan Cardinal Invitational

WESLEYAN, Conn. - The Bridgewater State College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Wesleyan Cardinal Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The men's squad was led by a third place performance by junior Kevin White (Swansea, MA) in the 55-meter hurdles.  After posting a time of 8.59 second in the preliminaries, White moved up three spots with a time of 8.28 seconds in the finals.

Senior Jason Williams (Bradford, MA) finished fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 41' 3.25".  Junior Nicholas Ferrar (Swansea, MA) was tied for sixth place in the high jump with a leap of 5' 11.25". The Bears relay team of senior Brian Stewart (Scituate, MA), freshmen Mike Sukeforth (Middleboro, MA) and Adam Cook (Hanover, MA) and sophomore Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, AM) placed seventh in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:19.03.

On the women's side, sophomore Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) placed eighth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:24.47. Hauswirth also competed along with fellow sophomores Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA), Carissa Penney (Gardner, MA) and Louise Comerford (Billerica, MA) on the Bears' distance medley relay team which place second in the event with a time of 14:02.30.

Both tracks teams will compete at the Wheaton College Invitational next Saturday beginning at 9 AM.
