
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Four members of the Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving program have been selected to the 2024-2025 Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Earning the honor from Bridgewater State are graduare student Camryn Beals, senior Brynn Murray, junior Cailey Simard and sophomore Jillian Hallman. Murray is making her third straight appearance on the Academic All-District® One Team while Beals and Simard are two-time honorees.
The Bears accounted for four of the 30 student-athletes from the Little East Conference (LEC) named to the Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Team.
The 2024-2025 Academic All-District® Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a significant contributor, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. A student-athlete must have also competed in at least five competitions or finish top-eight at a conference meet.
Beals, who hails from Middleboro, Massachusetts, graduated last May with a degree in early childhood education. She posted a perfect undergraduate 4.0 grade point average and currently sports a 4.0 GPA in graduate school as an elementary education major. A Chelmsford, Massachusetts product, Murray also graduated last May. She recorded a 3.92 GPA while majoring in elementary education and presently has a perfect 4.0 grad school GPA while working towards her masters in elementary education. A native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Simard is majoring in physical education and checks in with a 3.87 GPA. Hallman, who calls Raynham, Massachusetts home, currently sports a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in biology.
Beals, Murray, Simard and Hallman helped the BSU women's swimming & diving team place second at the Little East Championships this past February.
Beals finished 16th in the 400 individual medley, 20th in the 50 backstroke and 21st in the 500 freestyle at the Little East Championships.
Murray garnered All-Little East honors with a third-place performance in the 200 freestyle while competing on a pair of all-conference relays, the 200 freestyle (1st place) and the 400 freestyle (2nd place). She also finished fourth in both the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly, and swam a leg on the Bears' fourth-place 800 freestyle relay.
Simard captured Little East Diver of the Year honors for the third straight season as she placed first and set school and meet records on both the one-meter and three-meter boards. A seven-time LEC Diver of the Week recipient in 2024-2025, Simard competed at the DIII Northeast/North Regional Diving Championships for the third straight season (placing sixth on the one-meter board) and became the first member of the BSU women's swimming & diving program to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.
Hallman finished sixth in the three-meter diving competition at the Little East Championships as well as tenth on the one-meter board.
