
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Bridgewater State University junior diver Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) finished 26th in the three-meter diving competition on Saturday afternoon at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Simard, who was the first member of the BSU women's swimming & diving program to compete at the national championship meet, posted an 11-dive score of 379.80 points in the three-meter preliminaries.
Simard's highest scores today were 43.20 points on both her fifth (back 1 somersault 1 1/2 twist free, 2.4 DD) and tenth (inward 2 1/2 somersault tuck, 2.7 DD) dives. A forward 2 1/2 somersault pike (2.4 DD) that Simard attempted for her seventh dive scored a 39.60. She also recorded 37.50 points on her sixth dive (forward 1 ½ somersault 2 twist free, 2.5 DD), 36.40 points on her eleventh dive (back 1 1/2 somersault 2 1/2 twist free, 2.8 DD) and 34.20 points on her second (back dive pike, 1.8 DD).
Kailee Payne of Ithaca College placed first in the three-meter preliminaries with a score of 530.95 points. She was followed by Abigail Wilkov of Case Western Reserve University (497.45 pts.), Nina Schwab of Carleton College (480.50 pts.), MIT's Fiora Beratahani (475.50 pts.), Sadie Smith of Bowdoin College (464.40 pts.), the University of Chicago's Veronica Fong (456.80 pts.), Sydney Bluestein of Amherst College (452.05 pts.) and RIT's Madilyn Williams (450.45 pts.). The top eight performers advance to Saturday evening's finals.
On Thursday, Simard finished 28th on the one-meter board at the national championship meet.
