Women's Swimming & Diving Downs Plymouth State, 178-67, to Wrap Up Dual Meet Schedule

PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team posted a victory in its final dual meet of the 2024-25 season.

The Bears placed first in ten of the 14 events on the afternoon.

Senior Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.) and junior Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) each won a pair of events as the Bears defeated Plymouth State University, 178-67.

BSU will take part in the Little East Championships Feb. 13-16 in Wellesley.

Matte was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.45 and also won the 100 freestyle in 1:00.37.

Simard was the winner in the 1-meter diving competition with 249.35 points and was first in 3-meter diving with 263.30 points.

Junior Ava Fenton (Bourne, Mass.) won the 200 individual medley in 2:34.74 and was third in the 100 freestyle in 1:01.81.

Senior Renee Goodale (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) took the 50 breaststroke in 36.02 while junior Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) was first in the 50 freestyle in 27.61 seconds.

Junior Emily Bradford (Pittsfield, Mass.) won the 1000 freestyle in 12:07.48.

Senior Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.) was second in the 500 freestyle in 6:00.96 and the 200 freestyle in 2:15.40.

The 200 medley relay team of senior Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa), Goodale, freshman Evangelina Chaves (Raynham, Mass.) and Remson won in 2:17.87.

The 200 freestyle team of Chaves, graduate student Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.), senior Olivia Pelletier (East Kingston, N.H.) and Fiebiger also placed first in 1:52.19.

Pellitier was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.53 and the 50 butterfly in 32.53 seconds.

Also finishing second in two events was sophomore Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.). She had 218.95 points in 1-meter diving and 218.35 points in 3-meter diving.

Murray was second in the 50 backstroke in 32.37.
