
KEENE, N.H. -- Junior Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) won both diving events to lead the Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team at a tri-meet hosted by Keene State College.
The Bears fell to the host Owls, 166-133, and dropped a 165-121 decision to Brandeis University.
Simard opened the meet with a victory in the one-meter diving competition as she posted a score of 245.15 points. She also captured top honors on the three-meter board with a score of 278.25 points.
Junior Ava Fenton (Monument Beach, Mass.) added a win for the Bears in the 50 butterfly as she recorded a time of 29.24 seconds.
Second place finishers for the Bears included junior Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) in the 50 backstroke (30.73), senior Summer Martin (Norton, Mass.) in the 50 breaststroke (34.88), senior Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa) in the 50 freestyle (26.61) and sophomore Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) on the the three-meter board (198.40 pts.).
The Bears host Division II Bentley University on Wednesday evening at six o'clock.
