Women's Swimming & Diving Drops 163-77 Decision to Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team lost to host Wheaton College, 163-77, on Friday night.

It was the second dual meet of the season for the Bears, who lost to Division II Saint Michael's in the opener at home.

Junior Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) had 267.55 points in 1-meter diving to finish first with sophomore Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) third with 195.05.

In 3-meter diving, Simard had the second-highest total with 268.15 and Anderson was third with 183.85.

Senior Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, South Africa) placed second in the 100 freestyle for BSU and was fourth in the 50 freestyle.

Fiebiger's time in the 100 was 58.49 and her time in the 50 was 26.71.

She was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team with graduate student Brynn Murray (Chelmsford, Mass.), senior Samantha White (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Brianna Matte (Cumberland, R.I.), which finished in 1:50.68.

Matte took second in the 1000 freestyle in 12:45.08 with teammate Nellie Peecher (Barrington, R.I.) third in 13:05.42.

Murray was fourth in the 200 individual medley in 2:31.10.

Senior Renee Goodale (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) took third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:00.94 while junior Julie Remson (Norwalk, Conn.) was fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.15.

In the 500 freestyle, junior Emily Bradford (Pittsfield, Mass.) placed fourth in 6:06.

BSU will be home to go against the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m.
