BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish in third place in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) standings as the 2024 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll was released today by conference director of media relations, Emily Loux.

The Bears received 25 points in the poll including one first-place vote. Westfield State University is the preseason favorite to capture the MASCAC regular season title as the two-time defending conference tournament champion Owls picked up 35 points and five of the seven first-place votes. Defending regular season champion Framingham State University is second in the poll with 31 points and one first-place vote.

Under the guidance of head coach Erica Adams (10th Year), the BSU women's lacrosse team finished the 2024 season fourth in the MASCAC standings with a 3-3 conference mark (8-11 overall). Adams has guided the Bears to a 82-62 (.569) record over her first eight seasons at the helm with a 44-21 (.677) mark against conference opponents.

Returning All-MASCAC selections, seniors Camryn Gonsalves (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Erin McIntyre (Tewksbury, Mass.), will help lead the Bears in 2025.

The BSU women's lacrosse team opens the 2025 campaign on Wednesday, February 19th as the Bears travel to Wheaton College for a four o'clock game with the Lyons. The MASCAC schedule gets underway on Saturday, March 29th when the Bears travel to Worcester State University to take on the Lancers at 11:00 AM.
