WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Freshman guard Nicole Bostick (Bridgewater, Mass.) scored 21 points in her collegiate debut to lead the Bridgewater State University women's basketball team to a 54-52 victory over Hamilton College on Saturday night at the Williams Classic. 

Bostick connected on 8 of 9 field goal attempts including 5-for-6 from behind the arc in just 15 minutes off the bench. She scored 17 of her game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter.

The Bears trailed 28-20 at the intermission and 38-30 early in the fourth quarter.

Bostick scored eight points on a pair of three-pointers and a jumper during a quick 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 40-38 with 6:13 left to play.

Freshman guard Carly O'Hern (Jamesville, N.Y.) answered with a three-pointer and junior forward Lauren Getman (Manlius, N.Y.) knocked down a pair of free throws to extend the Continentals' lead to 45-38.

Back-to-back trifectas from senior guard Stephanie DeSantis (Walpole, Mass.) and Bostick pulled the Bears to within one, 45-44, as the clock ticked under four minutes.

Following a layup by junior guard Samantha Srinivasa (Mount Kisco, N.Y.), Bostick drained another three-pointer to knot the score at 47-47. A Chelsea Saucier (Portland, Maine) layup at the 2:03 mark gave the Bears their first lead of the game.

Getman connected on a pair of free throws to tie the game up at 49-49, but Bostick answered with yet another three-pointer to put the Bears up by three (52-49) with just 1:12 left to play.

A steal by freshman guard Kayla Carter (Hamilton, Mass.) resulted in a pair of DeSantis free throws to up the BSU lead to 54-49 with 36 seconds showing on the scoreboard.  Freshman guard Mackenzie Aldridge (Mystic, Conn.) drained a three-pointer with just two seconds remaining to account for the final score of 54-52.

Bridgewater made just 12 of 43 (28%) field goal attempts, including 1-for-16 from behind the arc, over the first three quarters. The Bears, however, went 8-for-12 (67%) from the floor and 6-for-8 (75%) from three-point range in the final period. 

Sophomore guard Sara DaSilva (Chelmsford, Mass.) added 11 points for the Bears, while DeSantis chipped in with five points and a team-best seven rebounds to go along with two assists and a pair of steals.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow, with Hamilton playing Montclair State at 1:00 PM and Bridgewater squaring off with host Williams at 3:00 PM.
