KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Bridgewater State College softball team dropped a pair of games to Susquehanna University on Monday at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.

The Bears (3-3) lost the first game of the twinbill, 7-6, and dropped a 5-1 decision in game two.

Senior Lauren Cucinotta (Franklin, MA) went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the opener.  Senior Meghan Noyes (Stoughton, MA) was 2-for-4 with a solo homerun, while junior Kate Youngstrom (Holden, MA) belted a two-run homer.

Senior right-hander Jamie Ducinski (Duxbury, MA) gave up five runs in four innings of work as she was tagged with the loss.  Ducinski (0-2) stuck out five and allowed just one hit, but also walked four.

Senior Kaitlin Morelli (Milford, MA) came on in relief of Ducinski to start the fifth and worked two innings.  Morelli struck out one but was touched up for a two-run homer in the sixth after Bridgewater had cut the deficit to 5-4 with a pair of runs in the fifth.

Freshman Courtney Gregoire (Dartmouth, MA) tossed a scoreless seventh inning in her collegiate debut as she retired all three batters she faced.

In game two, Susquehanna (4-0) rallied for five runs in the top of the sixth off BSC starter Meghan Dunn (Colchester, CT) as the Crusaders completed the sweep with the 5-1 win.

Dunn (1-1) blanked the Crusaders for the first five innings before running into trouble in the sixth.  She went the distance giving up eight hits and a pair of walks while striking out two.

The Bears scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by junior Penny King (Hanover, MA).

Bridgewater banged out ten hits in the contest to go along with two walks but pushed across just the one run on King's blast.

Noyes and sophomore Jordan McDermott (East Bridgewater, MA) paced BSC's ten-hit attack as they each went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Youngstrom added two hits in three at bats.
